The Arts Make Better Communities!

The City of Ellensburg in partnership with CWU, the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce, the Ellensburg Downtown Association, Laughing Horse Arts Foundation and CenterFuse, is creating an Ellensburg Community Cultural Arts Plan (ECCAP) to inspire future Cultural Arts Programming over the next ten years. Possible outcomes include expanding programming and funding for the arts and culture, developing resources for creative entrepreneurs, facilities expansion in the arts, and family activities for the arts. What do you want to see?

What do we mean by arts and culture? The arts can include any experience pertaining to the visual arts, traditional and folk arts, performing arts (theater, dance, music), literary arts, media arts (film) and culture can connect you to general beliefs, practices, traditions, values, etc of humanity through such subjects as history, food, drink, nature, and the arts.

Part of the engagement that was conducted included a survey and three community visioning sessions. The ECCAP Committee provided an update to the Ellensburg City Council on August 1, 2022.
